On the left is a plant in spring
before the heat of summer. On the above right, same plant in
Fall. Midsummer, the purple leaves turn blue green, then give
way to Red in Fall. |
A young 'Grace' in bud in early summer.
New growth is reddish, showy, eventually maturing to rich wine red,
then blue green in summer.
J.C. Raulston Arboretum says
"It (Grace) is more impressive than any C. coggygria cultivar we
know."

Outrageous, over-the-top, stupendous
Fall color! 'Grace' was specifically bred to
introduce some purple to the species foliage and to improve Fall
color. Well, we think they succeeded! |
