Viola dissecta var. chaerophylloides -
Japanese Violet
I wish there was some way to put a
'Scratch and Sniff' strip on the above photos. When the Viola
dissecta var. chaerophylloides are in bloom in the greenhouse, a tray
of them perfumes an entire 25 x 100' greenhouse. I love to be
the first one to open the door in
the morning -- the smell is intoxicating. Sort of sweet and
lemony at the same time. And the rest of the year, the foliage
just stops people who pass by it -- very finely cut, almost fernlike.
