All Plants on this page are in
Trade Quart Pots (Qt.) which are 1.68Pints (794 ml) liquid measure.
(Similar to a true nursery quart on top width and height, but tapered to a
smaller bottom for lighter shipping.) |

|
Our Hemerocallis are divisions from mature plants that
are root pruned to fit in a quart pot for shipment. In most cases, there
are 2 eyes per pot. Upon planting, they will grow very quickly,
since, they are, in fact, mature plants - NOT tissue cultured small
plants - but have just had their roots reduced some to fit in a
shorter pot. By Fall, our 'root pruned' quart plants
are literally bursting out of
their pots.

Daylily Crown Rot
has become an issue in
the trade and no one seems to have the perfect solution debating about why
this happens - over hybridization, tissue culture, poor growing conditions,
etc. We will tell you that most any daylily planted in poorly drained soil
and growing in high temperatures of the South can develop Crown Rot. Our
plants are grown outside in pots of Superb, Superb soil. We've never
had a problem with any of our daylilies growing in a well-drained, properly
prepared Zone 7 gardens. Take time to prepare your soil and you will
have much better success. They are not fussy but, like many plants, do
much better with good, well-drained soil.
