Please remember, some of these plants
come from places other than China as well. One shrub comes
from China and Arizona! Many plants ending in the Botanical
Term 'japonica' actually were carried to Japan from China by
immigrants and were simply discovered in Japan, hence the species
name 'japonica' but they are truly Chinese plants by origin. This list
includes cultivars (which are simply select forms) of Chinese
Natives as well as the straight species. So even though a new
cultivar of Buddleia davidii was developed in England it still used
a Chinese native species in the development. The list doesn't
include hybrids unless BOTH parents of the Hybrids came from
China.
These plants are also marked in our regular pages by China's
wonderful symbol, the Panda Bear.
