Plants for Dry Shade
One of the most challenging places for a gardener to plant is under Maples, Dogwood and other Trees that have many surface roots.  Following are a list of plants (or groups of plants) that will be happy under these tough conditions provided they are watered the first year. Some would bloom better if put toward the sunny edge of the dry shade.
